NO - There are no exceptions to this rule. journey track is for students to all stay together throughout the day. if you need different levels, we recommend choose your own adventure academy days on Monday and Wednesday.
No - students registered for Journey will stay with their assigned Journey group throughout the day. Your student will definitely benefit from being in a class above their level while you also enroll them in their level on Mondays or Wednesdays (or on your own) - in the higher level they can practice taking notes, be exposed to concepts they will learn in the future, and have the enjoyment of being in class with their peers (which also reduces embarrassment for some who are at a lower level on adventure days).
We recommend looking at the curriculum track for the Journey you are considering. Look at the beginning, middle and end of that book. You should be able to gauge from the curriculum where your child will fit best. The majority of curriculum we use can be found at the Homeschool Hive (5330 Ehrlich Road) to view.
100% of the child’s education. The Journey track will provide the student with the lessons taught in class and a guide for WORK TO BE COMPLETED AT HOME. The parent is responsible for guiding their student the remainder of the week and will be required to sign off each week on their student’s work.
Journey Notebook and Grading Policy
All Journey students will keep a notebook that includes a parent sign-off each week.
For younger Journey classes, the parent sign-off is the grade. A signed notebook = 100%, and no signature = 0%.
For older Journey classes, some grades are entered automatically, while others still rely on the parent sign-off. Some classes will also include additional assignment grades.
Grades are used as a guide only. Parents give the final grades for their students.
Journey through Kindergarten will be with Mrs. Alex Norris.
Journey Levels 1 - 5 will have Mrs. Malori Rosario for Language Arts, Mrs. Amiee Gonzalez for Science, Mrs. Liana Kyper for Math, Mrs. Alisha Sotolongo for History.
Journey 6 - 10 will have Mrs. Candace Rydell for Language Arts, Dr. Andrea Nastelli for Science, Mrs. Michele Wilson for Math, Mrs. Wendy Danciger for History.
Journey through Dual Enrollment will have Mrs. Wilson for all subjects.
